Lined up at 6:15pm and got to see this rare wonder at 10:45pm in the Conservatory at the Geelong Botanical Gardens. The corpse plant 🌱 or Amorphophallus Titanum, blooms once every 10 years for up to 48 hours, with a stench described as its name sake!
Just incredible to see and no one minded waiting.

The line was 3 times as long when I left with many still driving in, I can’t believe the excitement for this rare plant!!❤️

This is the last single release off the highly anticipated album SMASH IT UP!
These songs are a great combination with a common theme of heartbreak which is quickly turned into resilience and strength. ‘Break My Heart’ by Dua Lipa starts in a similar fashion to ‘I Will Survive’ by Gloria Gaynor, with similar heartbreak messages and was the perfect combination to smoothly transition into the iconic Gaynor song. The bring to life the story of something that was too good to be true and staying strong not to let them back in your life and bring you down.
The combination of these two songs overlapping their melodies and lyrical lines with a sensational arrangement, give room to bring each songs features out and allows the backing harmonies to shine. Using Dua Lipa’s ‘New Rules’ with its rhythmic almost spoken feel to bring home the message of not to let that person who broke you back into your life, sits so well underneath the layers and the iconic tune of the ‘I Will Survive’ theme.
The inclusion of ‘This Love’ (released in 2004 as the second single from Maroon 5’s debut album) towards the end of the song showcases the vocal talent of Judd Field with a charged solo, which continues to bring a slick and punchy pop dynamic amongst all the layers of the band and harmonies in this mashup.
The band is just sensational, and they really drive this mashup through and hold the rhythms steady while at the same time giving everything space. When the horns have their moments, the song elevates to the next level. The harmonies and vocal arrangements are genius, and you can’t help but want to dance to this song.

SMASH IT UP is an album concept and show created by Kara Ciezki, that specialises in re-creating mashups in ways you never expected!
A mashup is a technique which involves the blending of two or more pre-recorded songs, where the vocal track of one song is overlayed seamlessly over the instrumental track of another song. There are thousands of mashups that have been created by DJ’s and music producers, but these new releases take the mashup to another level – a SMASH UP!
Using well known iconic songs that people know and love from artists including Gloria Gaynor, Donna Summer, Adele, Britney Spears and The Eurythmics, and putting them together with more recent artists such as Billie Eilish, Tones & I, Jonas Brothers, Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift and Harry Styles, these songs have been re-created beyond the typical ‘mashup.’
Expect to hear incredible recordings with a sensational live band, horn section, and 50+ layers of vocal harmonies and arrangements.
The album will be released in full in October 2024, with all 9 singles off the album being released over the next 12 months in both Stereo and Dolby Atmos.

This was the 2nd Vinyl LP test being checked by the incredible Joe Carra at Crystal Mastering.
This one didn't make the approval, but it was close! Third one was perfect!

Producing my first vinyl I wasn't 100% sure what I needed to be aware of, and with such complex tracks, I wasn't taking any chances! This is why we need to make great connections and ask for help and pay for their expertise to make sure the sound it right. So important. And this is expensive to print so you don't want to get it wrong!

Of course there was a speech to say thanks to all the incredible talented people who have been working with me on SMASH IT UP!
Huge mention to my producer Chris Wiseman - the most patient, humble, talented producer and friend. What we've acheived and pushed each other to do on this album is next level!
He went to extreme lengths, even booking and paying for the studio to put live percussion behind this album and the next (SMASH IT UP 2 coming in 2025), and booking musos and other producers to come in for two days to do this! And yes, it was a brilliant move, and the percussion in these tracks is just sensational!

Here I am presenting him a poster which was a direct quote from a message he sent me while mixing one "Harder to Breathe / Careless Whisper / Locked out of Heaven".
